The WSBA has resources and equipment for race promoters!

Resources

USA Cycling has many resources for the race promoter and event organizer. A good place to start is on the USA Cycling web site event organizers page. This page contains links to:

  • Forms (Individual and Club Applications, Event Forms, License Information, Insurance Forms)
  • Submitting Race Results and Rankings
  • Promoter Resources

Some helpful documents are available here:

Equipment

As a resource for race promoters, here is a complete equipment list that the WSBA has to offer as a PDF. This may be used as a checklist of things promoters may need for their events.

Some of the most important resources available from the WSBA include (costs vary depending on the event):

  • 20 stop/slow paddles and vests for corner marshals
  • 12 rotating vehicle lights
  • 48 radios (11 car & 36 hand held & 1 base station)
  • Video camera and monitor
  • 20 sets of signs (Bike Race, Flagger, Be Prepared to Stop)
  • 20 car top signs that say "Bike Race"
  • 1,1,300 Watt generator
  • Lap board & bell
  • Tag Heuer timing strip (Chronoprinter 520)
  • 5 digit, two-sided digital race clock & tripod
  • 6 digit, two-sided digital race clock & tripod
  • 200 Meter, 1 km, 3 km and 5 km road signs
  • Two-sided digital race clock
  • 10 x 10 Ez-Up tent
  • Metal fencing - 50 eight foot sections with feet (separate rental fee applies)

All fees for WSBA equipment are due when equipment is picked up.

The promoter will pay a flat rental fee per event depending on how much equipment is needed.

Small Use - Criterium or TT that just uses the camera, numbers and radios and a few signs: $100
Medium Use - Road Races & TT that use the above plus the signs and car equipment: $200
Large Use - Stage Races that are multiple days and use all the equipment: $300

To arrange for WSBA equipment rental, please download the Microsoft Word version of the equipment list, fill it out and email an electronic copy to the Equipment Manager. You can get their email address from the contact page.

The metal fence is stored in Olympia with David Wamsley and costs an additional $100 to rent. Delivery and pickup can be arranged through David Wamsley for a separate charge.

To arrange for fence or event truck rental (not part of the WSBA equipment), contact David Wamsley at wams [at] comcast [dot] net.
