The exciting new Völkl Cup race series for category 3 women features 15 events for 2010 (subject to change):

• February 28: Frostbite Time Trial
• March 7: Mason Lake Road Race 1
• March 14: Mason Lake Road Race 2
• March 21: Mason Lake Road Race 3
• March 27: Independence Valley Road Race
• April 10: Volunteer Park Criterium
• April 18: Tour of Walla Walla final GC (150% of points)

• May 1: Glenwood Road Race
• May 8: Market Street Road Race

* = raced with/scored separately from cat 1-2s

Prizes will include a gift certificate from Völkl for the overall series winner plus a mid-series prize from FSA and other goodies along the way. Winner of the mid-series prize is expected to have garnered enough upgrade points to move up to cat 2 upon claiming this prize.

Important notes: Promoters reserve the right to combine categories at their events if field size minimums are not met. To make these races possible, women are strongly encouraged to:

• volunteer at these races for the part of the day they are not racing;
• recruit others to volunteer during the cat 3 races to make it possible to run these events;
• make sure their cat 1-2 teammates also race so that the 1-2 field is large enough to guarantee separate races

Only cat 3 women are eligible to participate in this series. Once a rider has earned 30 category upgrade points under USA Cycling rules, she will not be eligible to earn any more points in this race series. She does not lose those she has, but she cannot move up in the series once she has reached 30 upgrade points (5 points more than are required for the upgrade to cat 2).
